Zebra HC100 Patient I.D. Solution

Easiest Way to Ensure Accurate Patient ID

Zebra’s HC100 Patient I.D. Solution combines the reliable HC100 direct thermal printer with easy-to-load cartridges containing the only antimicrobial-coated wristbands on the market—Zebra’s Z-Band® wristbands. This all-in-one solution was specifically designed for the healthcare market to improve patient safety.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership!

Producing patient wristbands with a laser printer is common in hospitals, but more expensive in the long run. Here are some ways that thermal printing with the HC100 Patient I.D. Solution provides a lower total cost of ownership than laser wristbanding.

Lower maintenance costs

Laser has higher maintenance costs. With laser, the adhesive backing on the wristband and label forms can ooze and jam the printer. This leads to increased help desk calls and higher maintenance costs.

Less labor intensive

Laser wristband printing can be time consuming and labor intensive. With some laser bands, the staff must load forms into a special tray, print labels, apply a label to the band, and then fold a laminate over the band to protect the bar code image. Compare this to the HC100 Patient I.D. Solution, which is two simple steps—print and apply to the patient.

Less waste

Laser is wasteful. Many laser forms include extra wristbands and labels that are not needed and must be destroyed under HIPAA guidelines. With the HC100, you only print the bands you need, which saves money. And the HC100 printer automatically calibrates to the wristband size, meaning no wristbands are wasted.

No toner or ribbon needed

Laser toner is expensive, and more toner is used to print high-density bar codes than plain text. The HC100 Patient I.D. Solution uses thermal print technology, which requires no toner or ribbons.
